Legal Question in Criminal Law in California
Stolen and Forged Unemployment Checks
I have had 3 Unemployment checks stolen, 2 have been cashed/deposited so far(by Union Bank). These checks were mistakenly forwarded(by the USPS) to an address we were going to move to 5 months ago(but did not). The people that live there now are on Housing and supposedly getting unemployment, one member is on Paroll. We have copies of the two posted checks, the first one has a fingerprint, the 2nd has ''for deposit only''. The detective is not helping, Union Bank is not helping, and the EDD is barely helping. I am at my wits end. What else can I do? Where else can I go for help? Total loss so far is $700+
