Legal Question in Criminal Law in California

stolen vehicle

i helped a girl i was dating rent a car.

She did not return the car.

Therefore i was told by the agency to file a stolen vehicle report.

Turns out she had a bench warrant when the car was due. After she got out of jail she was speeding and arrested for stolen vehicle.

On the police report it will say the car was stolen but she had it the whole time. She told me that she has been advised not to speak with me. What are my options now.

Did I do anything wrong? I am concerned about the police report since it will not be accurate.

Please advise.

Re: stolen vehicle

Did you do anything wrong?? You rented a car and gave it to someone untrustworthy, someone to whom the rent-a-car company would not have rented. This was STUPID. You are lucky she didn't cause an accident resulting in YOU getting sued. Start thinking with your big head.
