stranger
victim of a sexual assault,date rape drug. assailant fled when police arrived,how do I file charges on an unknown stranger? Police not helping or listening

I'm very sorry this happened to you. May I respectfully suggest: 1) Contact your local rape crisis center or hospital. 2) Preserve any evidence you may have (e.g. underwear) that might have the assailant's DNA. 3) Consider hiring a private detective -- there are lots of surveillance cameras out there, were you anyplace where there might have been one? 4) Find someone to talk to, for example a licensed counselor, therapist, support group, minister, or rabbi. 5) Write to your local elected officials who oversee the police agency whose officers gave you the brush-off (city councilpeople or county supervisors).
