Legal Question in Criminal Law in California

Strong armed robbery

My boyfriend is being charged with strong armed robbery. He turned himself in and admitted to the crime. There was not great bodily injury. The victim got a scratch on his chin. there was no weapon involved. It happened in CA. The police report said that the victim was not being cooperative (he was a drug dealer). It said that my boyfriend was cooperative. What kind of sentence do you think he will get?

Re: Strong armed robbery

Since your boyfriend cooperated with the police and admitted to the crime, he'll probably get the maximum state prison sentence. Time to find another boyfriend.

He might have a shot at a probationary sentence depending, among other things, his (lack of) prior record and mitigating circumstances, such no weapon involved etc. Time to get a good lawyer.
