Legal Question in Criminal Law in California
Subpoenas served / copy of my court records
I am just wondering if subpoenas have are served via mail or do they have to be hand delivered to the victim of a case for preliminary set/reset in the Los Angeles county? also I would like to know if I am able to get a copy of court records for my pending case that was read to me by public defender before entering my plea?

Re: Subpoenas served / copy of my court records
Subpoenas have to be personally served unless the person who is to receive the subpoena agrees to accept it by mail. If the preliminary hearing has been reset and the judge ordered the witness back, then no new service is required.
Usually, the police report is not part of the public record. You can go to the clerk's office and ask to see your file, but it the police report is in the confidential portion of the record, it will usually be removed before you get the file. Just ask your attorney to review the report again.
