Subpoened to court for a criminal case

What happens if you are subpoened to court and you dont show up. What are the consequences?

Most likely you will find some uniformed officers at your door eager to give you a ride to court. They will take you whether you want to go or not, and will use force if necessary.

Depending upon the circumstances and the court, you might also be sanctioned and/or fined for your failure to appear as ordered.
