Legal Question in Criminal Law in California

Suicide

Can we do what ever we want to our bodies? I don't think we can. You can cut off a toe and a finger for the next ten days, but not without being commited and treated for Mental Illness. We can use drugs, but if caught, we will end up in jail. I want to know if suicide is legal anywhere in the USA...But If I must name a State I will have to Say California.

Suicide is legal in Idaho. Since I am an attorney only in Idaho, I can only tell you it is not illegal in Idaho. My guess is that it is legal everywhere in the United States. You can't make something illegal that you cannot be punished for. Since the succesfull suicide ends in your death, there is no way to punish someone who does so. However, attempting suicide is illegal in many states, tho. What is not legal in Idaho is helping someone to commit suicide.
