Legal Question in Criminal Law in California

Suspended license caught

I was reently pulled over and sited for driving with a suspended license. I was wondering what the penalty is for this? It was originally suspended for a DUI conviction. I was also wondering if any of these two problems will prevent me from applying for any other types of driver license (i.e. motorcycle license)?

Re: Suspended license caught

Thanks for your posting.

As you might expect, the penalties for your alleged violation range from a minimum to a maximum. The minimum is 5 days in jail, and the maximum is one year in jail. There is a minimum $100 fine, up to a maximum of $2,000.00.

From what you've stated, you may also be on probation for a DUI. If you are still on probation, you face a probation violation, and up to the maximum for the original DUI (6 months).

Additionally, there are penalties including being marked a habitual traffic offender, or license revocation or suspension, so you should treat this with the utmost seriousness.

I hope that this information helps, but if you have other questions, want more information, or feel that you need legal help, please feel free to email me directly at [email protected].
