It's anybody's guess. Many companies will run your own "background check" for a reasonable fee. If it comes up, consult an attorney in California as to whether you are eligible to possibly have the conviction reduced to a misdemeanor and "expunged," or whether you are eligible for a "certificate of pardon and rehabilitation."
Most likely, yes, it will. Essentially, the felony will be on a record forever; however, it really all depends on how far back a background check will inquire. Some felonies can be expunged from records and you might talk to an attorney about doing so, even though the decision rests solely with a judge. Not all felonies can be expunged and the process can be quite tedious.
