theft
My family came to help me change residences when I was in the hospitol. They stole some expensive things and took them home with them to other states. Can I press charges even though they are out of state?

You should report this to the police and see if they will investigate the loss of this property. If the police does not want to investigate you could file a law suit against them for the return of the property.
