Legal Question in Criminal Law in California

theft after rental?

hello

my friends rented my personal rv and they paid me a small daily fee for it.

now a few weeks after the rental ended(as per contract) they used it again for at least one day(when i picked up the rv there was a creditcard reciept of a $18 dollars fill up in the rv indicating they used it)

is this concidered theft???

what legal standpoint do i have???

they can claim that the gasreciept was for a carr fill up and not the rv.

but it was in the console between driver and passenger

somebody filled up their car ,,went to the rv which was in storage and put the reciept inside the console???

is this concidered theft in court???

what can i be compensated??

Re: theft after rental?

These are friends? And you want to press criminal charges for a one day rental fee?

The police will likely call it a civil matter.

You should walk away from this argument. The personal and financial cost of fighting it far exceeds any gain to you.
