Legal Question in Criminal Law in California
Is threatening to kill someone, threaten to cause severe bodily harm, and/or threaten to ruin their career/life with slander illegal? Is the legality of these things influenced by a restraining order(current/active) (was put in place by the courts after an assault/battery took place)?

If the protected person has a restraining order in place, then any actions by the restrained person in violation of the restraining order will bring additional charges for violation of a court order, and possible contempt proceedings as well.
