Legal Question in Criminal Law in California
first time offender...charged with pc211 feony and pc245 (a) (2) felony...district attorney offered 7 years...is that as good as it gets? I want to take it to trial but if I lose then its a 19 year sentence.

There is no way to evaluate the District Attorney's offer without a complete review of all of the facts, including the police reports, witness statements and the defendant's "jury appeal."
There could be situations where it was worth the risk to take it to trial, but others where I might advise a client to jump on a seven year offer because there was a pretty good chance he would lose at trial and get the nineteen.
Your lawyer, who should have all of the facts available, is in a better position to answer this question than a stranger on the Internet who has never met you or reviewed the case file.
