Legal Question in Criminal Law in California
traffic stop
is it legal for a cop to pull someone over for no reason (Cops said my tail lights were not working ) and then has me step out again for no reason then while one searches me and the other my car .Is legal for a male cop to be putting his hands on a female.

Answer= could be, was the tail lamp defective, any other traffic violations observed? As to the step out of the car...it is "legal" if the stop was valid, as for the pat down...car search...depends on the initial stop's validity, any consent, or independent PC after a lawful stop...all unknowns...
