Legal Question in Criminal Law in California

i have never been in trouble in life with law. I had just got truck stolen from me with my california id in it. i just got ripped off purchasing a vehicle to replace truck through craigslist so i found myself in a position where we are moving i had car that we got screwed on that was supposedly currently registered then found out it wasnt so tags were bad so i return a uhaul truck after using it moving and as we are leaving area police saw tags get pulled over asked me for info i explained how was screwed buying car handed him dmv papers and my high school id was all photo id i had on me at time anyhow my passenger was on probabtion with a search clause and so after running our names he tells us both to step out of car he tells me you are fine go sit there on curb and brings friend about 100 yards away and starts questioning her doing fst on her i am sitting on curb trying to read my book never been through this kind of thing before i was scared for her but he told me i was fine to sit so i thought im all good. during this time one officer stood by me talking to me about wattpad i was reading he was called away and another officer replaced him sitting trying to read he starts telling me to get off phone i told him last officer had no problem with my reading he starts talking to me. well all of a sudden cop with friend tells me ok come here lets friend sit. i was totally shocked he tells me you be honest with me u will be sitting there with your friend have you ever(i stress ever) used i told him i had tried in past and he says well you need drug diversion . didnt matter anything else just because i said i had tried he was judge and jury saying you need diversion to learn a lesson because you are not in system he actually said that i am so shocked at this time he states when is the last time used i told him i actually slipped recently after having quit because i was moving and i was so exhausted (dummy me!!) i trusted him he said i would be sitting with friend if honest dumb i know anyhow too much more to say he asked if he can search me or possessions i told him no get a warrant he threw handcuffs on me saying oh really its going to be that way well for get you and threw me in car ......more to say i would like advice on this please
