Legal Question in Criminal Law in California
Underage Drinking Laws in California
If my parents are strictly forbidding any minors drinking at their house for a party, can they still be liable if a minor somehow consumes alcohol behind their backs, leaves the premises and gets into an accident hurting himself or another? Even though my parents were trying their hardest to prevent this and not knowing of the minor drinking.

They probably could not be held criminally liable, but probably would be liable civilly. In other words, they couldn't be punished with jail time or fines but could be forced to pay damages to anyone injured in the accident and/or to the survivors of anyone killed.
