Hello:
If someone committed a crime in the united states years ago and this law has since been repealed by a new law, which aggravates the crime and includes new crimes. If the person was tried today, would he be tried with the old or new crime.

Generally, if someone is prosecuted for a crime, they must be prosecuted under the law as it was when they allegedly committed the crime. David Wallin
