Legal Question in Criminal Law in California

warrant (dui)

I asked for a 2 week continuance after showning up for my initial ?arraignment? in order to seek legal advise. The request was granted and I was told either my lawyer, should I accept one, or myself would be notified of when to return to court. The 2 week date would have been in the area of June sometime. I received a warrant but never acknowldedged it. The warrant occured in August/September. What is my course of action? What do I need to be prepared for in terms of consequences to the warrant? Or can I get out of the warrant in some way? Thank You

Re: warrant (dui)

Your course of action is to hire counsel ASAP and have Counsel appear with you to recalll the warrant and deal with the case. Courts vary wildly on how they treat warrants and what sanction they might impose so I cannot answer part of your question.
