Do warrants transfer state boundaries

My question is quite simple.

If someone has a bench warrant for a misdemenor

domestic violence charge in Washington State,

Will that warrant transfer to California State?

Example, if someone living in California has a warrant for the above mentioned in Washington State,

Would that person be at risk of getting arrested in California..

Please Help clarify this issue..

The answer to you question is a qualified yes.

Warrants issued in one state are not automatically sent out on the interstate network. Some counties in California do not routinely send out misdemeanor warrants on the interstate network.

You could contact the local sheriff's department to determine whether a warrant is outstanding for your arres. If there is a warrant you will be held pending a court appearance regarding the warrant. An attorney or private investigator can check on the status of the warrant.
