Legal Question in Criminal Law in California

My wife had made a false statement and I was arrested and posted bail. There was no witnesses and it was hear say. My wife tried to talk to a detective to tell them she said what she thought she heard but wasn't what she stated to the police. If she was under the influence of alcohol an marijuana can the charges be dropped?
