Legal Question in Criminal Law in California

Will my juvenile record stay with me?

When I was a juvenile I was convicted of a PC211. I tried to have my record sealed but my petition was denied due to the seriousness of the offense (being a ''707b''). After calling a few lawyers I am not sure how my record will affect me because they told me different things. One says my record is open and unsealable, and not even possible to have reduced to a misdemeanor. Another lawyer said my record can not be seen by anyone since it is a juvenile record. (I asked then what what the purpose of have a juvenile record sealed and why was I denied, and didn't get a direct answer)

I am a pre-dental student and need to not have a visible felony to even get into dental school. To get licensed I believe at minimum I will need a certificate of rehabilitation (not sure about this since it seems to be avilable to offfenders with adult records) I hope someone can clear this up for me so I know what my situation is. Assuming the dental schools and licensing board runs a background check on me (through the FBI I assume?) will my felony show up? If so, is there ANYTHING I can do about this at all? Your advice is appreciated.
