Depends on whether they find the body.

Okay - now for a real answer.

Your criminal record is based on any data input by law enforcement or the court system. It's cross-referenced by fingerprint and by name.

Because you were arrested and printed, there is a strong likelihood that your record will show the fact of the arrest.

Keep in mind that the statute of limitations on a misdemeanor is one year and a felony is three years (with a few exceptions for sex offenses, fraud and crimes that carry a potential life sentence). The case may still be under investigation and you could end up facing charges.

If you are 100% sure the case is closed and you're not going to be charged and you're really concerned about getting the arrest off your record, contact an attorney about a "Factual Innocence" motion and sealing/destruction of your records. That's the only way to truly get something off your record once it's there.
