Legal Question in Criminal Law in California
if someone was a witness to a murder,are they absolutely obligated to testify?and if so are they guaranteed any type of protection if they feel that their life as well as others could seriously be in a danger?

The witness must testify if he or she is properly subpoenaed. There is no guarantee of protection, but if you really believe you are in danger you should explain this to the prosecutor. Depending upon the circumstances, she may be able to offer you protection in a variety of ways.
