Legal Question in Criminal Law in California

I was wonering what recourse if held 72hrs. and no charges with no prior arrest or crimanal record and the case was dropped

If you are talking about the "recourse" of suing the police, you should forget that. But if you have no other arrest record and are concerned with what the arrest will do to your job prospects, etc, what you can do about the arrest record is to get a lawyer to bring a petition under 851.8 of the Penal Code and prove factual innocence. Then your arrest record will be sealed and, 3 years from the arrest date, totally shredded and destroyed.
