Legal Question in Criminal Law in California
Being wrongfully charged w/Petty Theft
I was recently stopped in a grocery store by security & charges filed against me for petty theft. The police were callled but would not intervene, as they found nothing on me. The surveillance tape shows me putting something in my purse, but it is too blurry to make out what it is (pixelates when enlarged). Based on this, my atty wants me to plea, but I didn't do it. I believe that someone doctored the video, as I know that I, at no time put anything in my purse! I don't know what to do & I'm now out of time,as my lawyer waited until the 11th hour to tell me about the video. He has done nothing to help me and I feel completely helpless.
Please help!

Get a second opinion regarding your case from another lawyer or two. If your present lawyer is not serving you well, the only option is to retain another one.
