wrongly accused

I was assaulted by a security officer in an apartment complex, however, I was the one that was arrested and taken to jail. In what area of practice would I look for an attorney to file charges against the security officer, and/or anyone else involved? I entered a not- guilty plea on misdemeanor battery charges. Her injures came from me trying to get her off my neck in order to breathe. Can you help?

Individuals cannot file charges against anyone. You could consult with an attorney regarding a civil suit against the security guard, the employer of the security guard and the apartment owner. However, unless you the charges against you are dismissed.

First however, you should retain an attorney to defend the criminal charges.
