Legal Question in Discrimination Law in California

I am 17 and I have been accepted to cal state university east bay. My parents do not approve of the college I'm going to but I told them I am going to go anyway. They said if I leave they are going to report me as a run away. I know I'm only 17 but can they do that and stop me from going to college?

My son is going to East Bay. Leaves in 4 weeks. I had a bad feeling about school until I visited. I think it is a great campus up on the hill. Have them call me.
