Legal Question in Discrimination Law in California
car
I've been paying for a car for 3 years now
and the car is under my ex-boyfriends
name.. he says he's gonna report it stolen
and or take it away.. but this whole time
I've been making payments on it. Is there
anything I could do? If I refinance it the
term will be longer and make it easier for
him amd not benefit me. Please help

Re: car
You've had the benefit of use of the car for three years. Why not give it back and let him shoulder the payments. You could buy a car of your own. I hear that Detroit is offering some sweet deals.
Re: car
Mr. Cohen's idea makes a lot of sense, but maybe it doesn't work for you. An alternative is to remind him that the car ISN'T stolen - and making a false report of a crime is itself punishable as a crime. If you were ever stopped and questioned about driving a stolen car, you could have your loan and payment information with you to show the officer.
