Legal Question in Discrimination Law in California

My daughter was asked her ethnicity in class. When she answered philipino and white she was then asked what kind of white. She repied she did not know and the teacher then says well you might as well just be a philipino cracker!! Is this legal for him to ask and then call her this?

Absolutely not. Go to the school principal and to the Board of Supervisors. Consider going to the newspaper and TV anchors. That teacher has terrible judgment and probably should not be in the classroom.
