Legal Question in Discrimination Law in California
Waiting for my car to be ready at a major car dealership, the service agent made an anti-Semitic comment to me 5 minutes after arriving and meeting him for the first time. I am Jewish and was incredibly offended. The management questioned the employee and he admitted he said it. Do I have any legal ground to sue the dealership?

Were you denied service? What damages have you suffered as a result of the comment? What would you be suing for?
As a fellow Jew, I know we have and will continue to be subjected to offensive comments made by ignorant people in all walks of life. But you cannot sue someone or a business entity every time we are offended.
You did what you needed to do by reporting the idiot. Hopefully, they will deal with it accordingly. But unless there are any consequential damages that result from the offensive remark, there is no basis for a lawsuit.
