Legal Question in Discrimination Law in California

is this ''wrongful termination''?

I was offered a better pay from comp 1.after almost three years, after hiring a new manager i was laid off. the reason indicated was due to reorganization, they (the company) have decided to eliminate my position. No explanation was given on what were the criteria did they use to arrive to that decision. Until now no reorganization were ever made nor announced. I handle A/R, bank recon and ''COCI from mail'' GL distribution. Compared to other staff my experience is more than adequate to do the job.

Can I pursue a wrongful termination case?

Re: is this ''wrongful termination''?

Unless you can prove discrimination based on age/gender/race/nationality/religion/political/ or orientation, no. In Ca employers can let you go for good reason, bad reason or no reason unless contractual (typically written) or discrimination.
