Legal Question in DUI Law in California
1st DUI
My daughter was stopped for speeding, policeman found she had no license, just permit and could smell alcohol on her breath. She did a breathalizer and he found she had under the limit, however he told her since she was only 20 and under the CA age of drinking she should have zero alcahol level. He did not ticket her but gave a court date. This is her first DUI and since that time she has gotten licensed to drive. Is there anything she can do without an attorney to reduce this or is it as bad as I think it is?

I am not sure I understand. If he did not give her a ticket, what is the purpose in telling her to appear in court? She must have been cited for some type of violation. If she was cited for driving without a license, then there are worse things. However, if she was cited for driving under the influence as a minor, there is much more at stake.
If you have any type of paperwork related to your daughter's case that you would like us to review for a free initial consult, feel free to contact us.
Best of Luck!

I believe that represented defendants do better than pro pers in all criminal matters. Contact me directly.

Yes an attorney can definitely help generally. This is a scary thing for you and your daughter before. I have represented many people under 21 and know the pitfalls and sometimes means to negotiate for lighter penalties.
I would be happy to discuss this with you further. Contact me directly!
