Legal Question in DUI Law in California

1st offense/bodily injury no crimanl record

I received my 1st dui with bodily injury. I have no previous crimenal record. I would like probation/community service instead of jail time. I lost my new job because I was taken into custody. Will the judge look at the fact that I was making an effort to do better. Also is it common for them to wait 5 months to file charges against me. That is why I lost my job. And is jail time usually 6 mon-1 year doing only 10%.

DUI with injury is a felony. You DO want to stay out of prison and possibly work again, get a lawyer.

You could be looking at TEN YEARS and doing most of it. A felony DUI is very serious and you definitely need an attorney. Five months is not uncommon.
