The judge may or may not give you credit against your sentence for time in a rehab. I've always found that clients do better if they make the effort to locate a program, apply and get an acceptance letter. Just going into court and asking for a program doesn't show that kind of motivation.
The Salvation Army has substance abuse programs all over the state, and they do not charge participants. It is a minimum commitment of six months, but you're probably looking at more jail time than that between your new case and probation violations.
Most courts hold their rehab programs in very high regard, but remember that the Salvation Army is a fundamentalist Christian organization with very strict rules. I am not criticizing that in any way, but it's not for everyone. For instance, I had a Native American client who asked to leave a Salvation Army program, so we found a program that was based on Native American cultural and spiritual principles, where he was very successful.
