Legal Question in DUI Law in California

What do you do when you cannot afford DUI school? I have had several extensions

I got stopped in 1997 I have completed probation. I have completed all the requirements of a 1st offender. I however, cannont afford the school. What can I do to get my license back. I'm due in court on 9/16/02. What do I do?

The judge is liable to come down on you for not having the school completed. The schools can be flexible in providing financing alternatives. Did you have a lawyer? If so, you need to speak with him. If not, you should apply for a Public Defender now so you can have representation for you upcoming court date. If you do neither, you need to explain in the nicest way possible to the judge your entire situation and see what he/she says. You are tying the judges hands to a certain extent by not having completed the school. Let me know how it goes-Martin
