If aquitted on a DUI, can the court still charge you for costs? Public defender says take a reckless driving deal because it will be "cheaper"

If you are acquitted, the judge can still order you to pay for the services of the Public Defender, assuming you can afford to pay. You cannot be ordered to pay court costs or fines if acquitted.
If you are convicted, the fines for a wet reckless are usually about half the fines for a DUI.
