Legal Question in DUI Law in California

bodily injury dui

I have a 1st offense DUI/bodily injury. It happened last year, however it took them 5 months to file charges. Is that common? Now I'm in custody am I going to be doing a long jail time ?

Not very uncommon. You should try to post bail and hire legal counsel ASAP.

You should post bail as the case could take months to reach a final outcome. Five months is not uncommopn, but speaks to problems for the prosecution. A felony DUI can carry long term serious jail time (ten years or more)
