Legal Question in DUI Law in California
Third DUI
I was recently cited for my third DUI. The first two were 4 and five years ago respectively, so that puts me at a total of three within a seven year period. My question is whether or not alternative sentencing is available for a third offense or if jail time is always mandatory.

Jail time is mandatory. The court, depending upon the county, may have several options for serving the jail sentence. Work furlough, electronic monitoring, and weekend work programs.
