Legal Question in DUI Law in California

A family friend has been sentenced to 6 months in county jail for multiple DUI(s). In California what is the likelihood that he will be released early from jail? How often does it happen and why?

It depends on the county. In LA, inmates are serving a fraction of their actual sentences. Orange County? They typically serve more, but *may* still get an early release.

I agree with Attorney Dane's response. In San Diego inmates may also serve more time than in Los Angeles. How much time an inmate spends in jail often depends upon jail overcrowding.
