Legal Question in DUI Law in California
fingerprint records
in 1984 i had a dui in san diego, paid bail, appeared in court but did not pay the whole fine(lack of money),in 1988 was pulled over (beverly hills) for going wrong way on a one way street and suspended license. paid bail, did not appear in court. went east closer to family and had an attorney try to take care of it from there. the police station acted like they knew about it at first and then laughed at my attorney and said they had no records of it. i moved back to ca.in 1994, got my ca. license with no problem. 1999(back east) received my (nursing)license (they supposedly do criminal backround checks)now, my new husband was transferred to calif. in order to get my nursing license here my fingerprints have to be sent to dept. of justice and the fbi. once they see my fingerprints will they come after me? is everything ok? i need to start work soon and i keep putting it off, i can't any longer. i again have a ca.driver's license, there was no problem. any input you can give me soon as possible would be greatly appreciated. thank you.

Re: fingerprint records
This is a complex area of law characterized by sloppy record keeping, unreliable systems, and great variation where discretionary calls are concerned. All I can suggest is that you consult with a criminal lawyer experienced in DMV matters is California before doing anything, and get some additional analysis on the strong and weak points of your situation.
