Legal Question in DUI Law in California

My friend recently got arrested for a dui in california. Second offense within 10 years. He has to attend the sb38 class. Can this class be done in hawaii to meet the program requirements for california?

No it can not. In order to satisfy the California DMV he must take the 18 month school in California. However, if he is a Hawaii resident he can apply for the out of state waiver. His attorney should have taken care of this for him. Dont forget he will also have jail time and fines.
