Legal Question in DUI Law in California

hit and run

hi,

i was at fault. i hit the guy by the intersection red light because i got distracted by my 15 months old baby crying in the car.

both parties pulled over but the traffic flow was too busy so i asked the other party to pull over where it's safe to exchange info. i will follow i told him.

he drove and made a right on on red light. i had to stop to sure it's safe to turn right by the amtrak rail (like railroad). when it was my turn to turn i didn't see the guy. i new he got my license. so i get home to take care of by baby.

a few hours later police showed up at my door. said he submits my info to district attorney.

What is my charges for this guilty incident. will i be in jail? what's the fine????

Stop beating yourself up. It doesn't appear from the facts you gave that you committed any crime. But you could be convicted if you don't fight the charges. Call a criminal defense lawyer near you and make an appointment.
