how long does dui stay on your driving record

I would like to know how long a dui stays on your record? I got mine before the law changed to 10 years. But when i talked to the dmv they said i still have all 3 of mine on my record

The easiest way to explain this is as follows:

Year 0 you have a dui conviction, with 7 years on your record.

Year 3 you have a second dui conviction.

Year 6 you have a third dui conviction.

In year 8 the statute changes to extend the time to 10 years. The first dui is gone because the 7 year period ran prior to the new law. The 2nd and 3rd dui convictions remain on your record as the 7 year period had not run prior to the time being extended.
