How long is a record kept?

Convicted of Felony DUI Vehicular Manslaughter in 1996 - did 2.5 in prison/3 parole - No Violations... question asked by car insurance... where does one get a free copy of record? DMV & Criminal? Thanks

The insurance companies have eyes in the back of their heads. If you volunteer this info and they don't find it, you might get insurance, but if you kill somebody again they'll say you lied and probably refuse to cover you.
