Legal Question in DUI Law in California

my first

I recieved my first minor in possesion. I had a beer in my hand, which was

not open, and i got a ticket. I'm not sure of the charges, or if i can contest-

because i really want to since i was not drinking it, or planning on drinking it.

Please help

If you got a ticket - then the ticket will tell you that you need to go to court on a certain day. At that hearing (arraignment) you will be told what the charges are and you should plead NOT GUILTY, if you want to contest the charges. I don't think it matters that it was not open because you were in possession of alcohol. HOWEVER, there may be other ways to fight it.
