Legal Question in DUI Law in California

Serve jail-time or community service?

Trying to use as small a space as possible, I'm trying to find out a guesstimate of how long I would serve time if I opted to serve time rather than do community service? I heard this is specific to the county so Santa Clara is the county I need. Another lawyer told me that in Los Angeles County right now it is 10% of the sentence. So if i was sentenced 10 days to community service, I could opt to serve time, probably only 1 day. But this was because of overcrowding in LA county. I need this for Santa Clara county because i was sentenced for 6 days but school starts in 3!

You can ask around at the court, but you're not going to get all this done, and your time served if it comes to that, in 3 days. If you need more time to do community service, or whatever, you need to go into court at 8:30 AM sharp, ask the clerk to put up your case, and ask the judge for more time or permission to do community service (or jail time ) on weekends so as not to inerfere with your school.
