statue of limitations
i was convicted of two dui's in 1997.will these clear soon,or will they always remain priors? they were standerd dui's,not felony's of any sort.they were also taken care of immediatly.ive been a good boy ever since and plan to keep it that way,but dont like them still lingering around.

Re: statue of limitations
They will remain "priors" for purposes of enhancing future convictions for DUI until ten years has passed from the date of conviction. Thus, if they haven't lapsed yet, they will at the end of this month.
However, they will still show on your records as misdemeanor convictions. If you have complied with all terms of your probation, then you can return to court to file a Petition to Expunge. It's a fairly simple process that a local attorney can do for you. The effect will be to remove those convictions from your record for *most* purposes.
