Legal Question in DUI Law in California

Is it transferrable?

Currently convicted of a DUI, thus loosing house, job, etc. Forcing me to move back to my homestate. Not avoiding the consequences, just want to do the time in homestate and go about my life. I've gotten mixed answers how to meet the courts decisions, Yes-i can transfer legal matters to home, No- I MUST return to CA. Without a job..no money to travel to CA how can i do this?

You may hire an attorney here to represent you, and then the attorney may make all your court appearances. That is if the DUI is filed as a misdemeanor. You may be jailed and do the other required matters in the jurisdiction you are going to including the drivers classes. Your guilty plea may be handled by signing a form (Tahl Form) in front of a notary at your destination, and your attorney may enter the plea for you. This proceedure is done all the time. Anon

you should contact the attorney that represented you in the matter and have that person request to transfer your probation to the state you are moving to.
