Re: Unable to pay fines for two DUI's

A conviction of a misdemeanor can and usually does yield the situation you now find yourself in. Cannot get a job because of the convictions and cannot get to your classes since you do not have a license.

What you may be able to do is talk to probation and see if you can attend classes closer to your home and arrange public transportation. You may also arrange with the court a payment plan to correspond with your income or when you have to prove to the court that you paid your fines, explain to the judge that you cannot afford the fines. The judge can commute your fines to public work service. However, public work creates it own transportation issues as well and is usually not a pleasant experience. But it is another option if you are broke. Good Luck!
