Legal Question in Education Law in California
19 year old autistic son and damage done at school
My son was with an aide at his school when he started looking at his reflection in a car window, why he was in the parking lot I don't know, as I hear it, he got mad and kicked the car and it was scratched. He is 19. Is the school liable at all, or just me?
Thanks.

First, unless your son is conserved, it would appear that he is the one who is liable, not you, because he is over 18.
It is possible that the school district could be liable if the student was not supposed to be in the parking lot with the aide, particularly if he is known to engage in destructive behavior.
